Cooking with Kids

We all know how restless the little ones can be cooped up inside the house. One of the best ways to keep the kids busy and occupied during the day is to get them involved in preparing their own snacks and meals. Cooking teaches them life skills for when they are #adulting and also promotes healthy eating, enhances their fine motor skills, reading skills and math ability just to name a few. Here are some fun cooking activities to do with kids while #athometogether.

One Pan Cookie with Ingenio Cookware

4 tbsp ground hazelnuts
60 grams butter
125 grams flour
1 tbsp baking powder
90 grams brown sugar
1 egg
30 grams dark chocolate chunks
30 grams milk chocolate chunks

  • Pre-heat oven to 170C.
  • In an Ingenio frypan, toast the hazelnuts. Add butter. Once melted remove from heat.
  • Add flour, baking powder and brown sugar. Mix to combine. Add egg and mix throughly. Spread the dough to make a giant cookie. Top with chocolate chunks and smoothen the edges with a spatula for an even edge.
  • Return to hob and cook on low heat for a few minutes before placing in the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Bon appetit!
